Cleaning/Saving Tips

Sock it to me...

Have you ever had a sock come up missing? Over time, you can end up with a bunch of socks without their mates. Instead of discarding the socks, they make excellent cleaning rags. It’s easy to just slip one of your hand and use it as a dust cloth, and since you were going to through them away anyway, it’s convenient to use them for the messy jobs. Just do your cleaning then toss them away.

Empty shoe boxes…

These can be great organizational tools. Although not as efficient as clear containers, simply applying a label make them great for storing objects in a tidy matter.

Ice tray organizers

Reusing old ice trays to organize jewelry or other small objects save the trays from finding their ways to the landfill. They stack nicely and can be put inside a dresser drawer or closet to hide them away nicely.

Plastic Grocery Bags

These are great when used as liners for small trash cans. If you are like us, you will never run out. They seem to multiply on every shopping trip. They are also great for picking up the small items that blow or otherwise stray into the yard. Just a quick flip to the trash bin and you are done.

Vinegar and water...

Great for windows with a minimum of streaking. Go ahead and know off those dust bunnies without fear of smearing the glass.
